Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage (Champissage) was started by women in India by massaging a variety of oils into their luxurious long hair to keep it on good condition. It was then taken up by barbers as part of their treatment for their clients. In more recent times Indian head Massage was passed down from generation to generation and most families learn from an early age and use this technique to massage each other.
Indian Head Massage is performed with the client sitting and remaining partially or fully clothed. Modesty is maintained at all times with towels and appropriate draping. It is best used with oils however a dry massage through the clothes also proves beneficial. The massage includes the shoulders, neck, arms, upper back, scalp, face and ears. It takes 30 minutes and is deeply relaxing. Many clients combine Indian Head Massage with a Reflexology session and find working on both extremes of the body a total treat. A slightly longer session can be arranged on request.
